GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Join the State of Georgia and support agencies in adopting effective risk management and loss prevention practices. The position will assist and support the Loss Control Officer in monitoring and evaluating comprehensive safety and loss control programs for the State of Georgia. The Loss Control Program Data Analyst provides dedicated data management, analysis, and reporting for statewide loss control programs. The position organizes and validates agency profiles, regional assignments, claims, training, and program activity data and converts this information into consistent reports, dashboards, and trends that support planning and decision-making.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position performs a wide range of office and field administrative duties for loss control program areas. Duties may be complex, may require access to confidential information, and include monitoring policies, procedures, and programs to meet the needs of state agency clients. This position may require 5% travel.

Data Management and Quality

•  Maintain agency, claims, training, and program activity datasets using standard definitions and validation rules.

•  Validate data, correct discrepancies, and obtain missing information.

Training and Program Data

•  Maintain training catalog, course, instructor, participation, and completion records.

•  Track data submissions, reporting completeness, deadlines, and missing records.

Analysis and Reporting

•  Analyze claims, training, and program trends to support planning and decision-making.

•  Prepare repeatable reports, calculations, charts, dashboards, and performance summaries.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

•  Data modeling, validation, reconciliation, and standardization

•  Excel formulas, lookups, pivot tables, charts, and data-quality controls

•  Power Query or comparable data-transformation tools

•  Analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and clear reporting

•  Ability to organize complex information, perform office and field administrative duties, protect confidential information, and monitor policies, procedures, and programs while working effectively with internal and external stakeholders

This position may require occasional travel.

Completion of a pre-employment background check is required.

MINIMUM ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: 

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related experience;

 

OR two (2) years of experience required at the lower-level Admin Assistant 2 (GST051) or position equivalent.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following. PLEASE CLEARLY INDICATE THESE QUALIFICATIONS ON YOUR RESUME.

•  Experience structuring, validating, reconciling, or standardizing operational datasets using Excel formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and charts; Power Query or comparable data-transformation tools; Power BI; and basic SQL or relational data

•  Experience analyzing claims, risk management, safety, training, or program-performance data

•  Commercial Insurance Carrier Loss Control experience

•  Insurance Agency Claims Operations experience

•  Environmental Health and Safety experience

•  Risk Management Information Systems platform experience
