This position is located at the Macon State Farmers Markets
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under broad supervision, assists with managing large full-time, year-round state farmers' market that provides an outlet for the sale of products by farmers, retailers, and wholesalers.
Provides directions to farmers in sale of produce to consumers.
Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
Assists in formulating and administering market operations.
Assists in public relations concerning produce.
Assists wholesale and retail buyers in locating produce.
Conducts investigations and directs enforcement of all market rules and regulations to ensure market operates in orderly manner.

Plans and directs promotional activities for market of fresh produce.

Provides an outlet for sale of produce by farmers, retailers, and wholesalers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Market Operations Specialist 1 – $33,410.22/ Paygrade: D – Job Code: RCT060
High School diploma / GED and one (1) year of experience in the area of assignment.
Market Operations Specialist 2 -$36,023.24 / Paygrade: E – Job Code: RCP061
High School diploma / GED and three (3) years of experience in the area of assignment.
Market Operations Specialist 3 – $38,897.56 / Paygrade: F – Job Code: RCT062
High School diploma / GED and four (4) years of experience in the area of assignment; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Market Ops Spec 2 (RCT061) or position equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working for the Georgia Department of Agriculture and/or at a State Farmers Market.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
