Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for social media content creation and scheduling, graphic design, e-newsletter production and distribution, and a variety of administrative functions that support the college’s Marketing and Communications operations.

MAJOR DUTIES

     Social Media & Content Creation

  • Creates, schedules, and publishes engaging content across all college social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) in alignment with the college's brand and communications strategy;
  • Assists in developing content calendars under the direction of the Communications Director;
  • Monitors social media accounts for engagement, comments, and messages and escalates as appropriate;
  • Captures photo and video content at college events and on campus as needed;
  • Ensures all published content meets ADA accessibility standards;

     Graphic Design

  • Designs digital and print marketing materials including flyers, banners, social media graphics, event signage, brochures, and program promotional materials;
  • Maintains brand consistency across all visual communications in accordance with college style guidelines;
  • Coordinates with faculty, staff, and program areas to fulfill design requests in a timely manner;
  • Prepares print-ready files and coordinates with print vendors for production;

     E-Newsletter Production & Distribution

  • Generates, formats, and distributes the college's internal and external e-newsletters on a regular schedule;
  • Collects content submissions from departments and programs; edits for clarity, tone, and brand consistency;
  • Manages e-newsletter distribution lists and maintains subscriber records;
  • Tracks open rates and engagement metrics; reports findings to the Communications Director;

     Administrative & Departmental Support

  • Completes and processes purchase orders for marketing-related expenditures in accordance with college procurement policies;
  • Maintains and tracks promotional item inventory; coordinates ordering and distribution of branded merchandise;
  • Serves as a point of contact for internal departments and external vendors, partners, and stakeholders regarding marketing requests and inquiries;
  • Maintains organized department files, project logs, and vendor contacts;
  • Assists the Communications Director with special projects, events, and campaigns as assigned;
  • Supports the department's compliance with accessibility and records management requirements;
  • Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development activities; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree *and* Two (2) years of related experience *OR* Bachelor’s degree *and* One (1) year of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     In addition to the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Three years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Later)
  • Experience with e-newsletter platforms such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar
  • Experience in higher education communications
  • Knowledge of basic photography and video editing
  • Knowledge of ADA/web accessibility standards for digital content
  • Experience with purchase orders or procurement processes in a public institution
