Job Description
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this role, the intern will learn how to take the skills acquired in school related to his or her field of study or areas of interest and apply them in a government setting. The expectations of the positions is based on the academic level of the intern as presented:
Undergraduate
Provides project support, conducts research, assists with documentation and data preparation, participates in meetings, and completes clearly defined assignments under guidance.
Graduate
Performs more independent analysis, supports project coordination, develops reports or dashboards, conducts assessments, and makes recommendations based on findings.
Doctoral
Leads or independently completes a defined analytical, research, evaluation, or informatics project; conducts advanced analysis; develops recommendations; and may present findings to OPHI or agency leadership.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision of an assigned manager from the OPHI Management Team the intern may support one or more of the following activities:
Support public health informatics, data modernization, analytics, and technology projects.
Assist with data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
Conduct research, assessments, and environmental scans.
Support project coordination, documentation, timelines, and deliverables.
Assist with workflow, system, and business process documentation.
Support data governance, data quality, and program evaluation activities.
Participate in meetings and collaborate with OPHI staff and partners.
Develop reports, presentations, dashboards, or other project deliverables.
Complete other related assignments or special projects as needed.
