Job Description:

Job Summary**

We are seeking a Physician (Hourly Paid) to provide medical services to individuals receiving care through the Georgia Regional Hospital at Atlanta (GRHA), under the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. This role involves direct patient care, medical assessments, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team on an hourly basis.

Job Responsibilities**

* Conduct comprehensive medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment of patients with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
* Prescribe and manage medications, monitoring for efficacy and adverse effects.
* Provide crisis intervention and emergency medical care as needed.
* Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner in electronic health records.
* Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and grand rounds.
* Educate patients, families, and staff on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care.
* Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
* Maintain licensure and complete continuing medical education requirements.

Job Qualifications**

* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
* Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
* Board certification or board eligibility in a relevant specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Psychiatry) preferred.
* Valid DEA registration.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
* Minimum of one (1) year of experience practicing medicine, preferably in a behavioral health or developmental disabilities setting.
* Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
* Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex healthcare environment.
* Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
