Job Summary:**
The Physician (Hourly Paid) at GRHA provides direct medical care and oversight to individuals receiving services within the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring adherence to medical standards and protocols on an hourly basis.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic testing, for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
* Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions, prescribing medications and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team (e.g., nurses, therapists, social workers).
* Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all clinical findings, orders, and interventions accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
* Provide crisis intervention and emergency medical care as needed, coordinating with emergency services when appropriate.
* Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and grand rounds to discuss patient care, share expertise, and contribute to care planning.
* Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, medication management, and preventive care.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and departmental regulations, policies, and procedures related to patient care, documentation, and medical ethics.
* Maintain professional licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education requirements.
* May provide consultation and guidance to other healthcare professionals on complex medical cases.
Preferred Job Qualifications:**
* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
* Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
* Board Certification or Board Eligibility in a relevant specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Psychiatry) preferred.
* Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience, preferably in a setting working with individuals with behavioral health or developmental disabilities.
* Demonstrated knowledge of medical principles, practices, and procedures, including psychopharmacology.
* Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
* Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
