STATE PROFILE SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, provides expert level professional support in one or more of the following areas: traffic, planning, OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, utilities, surveying, or environmental.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Und e r limit e d sup er vision, supports the Design Traffic Forecasting team in p erf o r mi n g t ra f f ic stu d i e s and managing traffic projection requests.
- P l a ns, s c h e dul e s a nd d e t er min e s wo r k priorities of internal and external consultants to complete traffic forecasting requests in a timely manner.
- Supports development of deliverables and facilitates traffic data including b a se a nd d e sign y e a r a v e r a g e d a i l y t r a ff i c , d e si g n ho u r volum e s a nd t r u c k p e r c e nt a g e s, f or use in the d e si g n a nd e nvi r o nm e nt a l c l ea r a n c e of t ra n spo r t a tion s y st e ms.
- Supports development of t raff ic g r o wth rate determination f or simple to medium c o m pl e xity p r oj ec ts using outputs and concepts from GDOT’s various travel demand models.

- C ommuni ca t e s with subject matter experts, FHWA, GDOT project management teams, consultants, a nd oth e r offices within the D e p a r tm e nt to p r ovide in f o r m a tion on o n g oi n g p r oj e cts.
- Facilitates Interchange Access Justification Report (IAJR) development and coordination.
- Manages multiple types of planning services contracts with statewide level scope involving the interstate system.
- Promotes and supports transportation planning initiatives and innovation through cross-functional training, outreach, and collaboration within the Office of Planning and throughout the Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications.

AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with GDOT’s Design Traffic Forecasting Manual.
- Familiarity with Georgia’s Statewide Travel Demand Model and how it relates to traffic projections.
- Familiarity with ProjectWise.

Good Employment Standing:
In accordance with the Interview and Selection Process (ISP), an applicant must have no active disciplinary actions to be in good employment standing. Actions that may disqualify an applicant include letters of reprimand (active for 12 months after issuance date); suspension without pay or disciplinary demotion (active for 12 months from the effective date); Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Leave Restriction Plans (active until 12 months after the date of conclusion). In addition, an employee must have an overall ePerformance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation. Please note that Memorandums of Concern are not considered disqualifying factors. Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee’s favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.
