Job Description:

Our mission is to strengthen Georgia by providing individuals and families access to services that promote self-sufficiency, independence, and protect Georgia's vulnerable children and adults.  

Start your career in public service. The Professional Social Services Worker is an HOURLY position.  This position provides customer service and administrative support to Social Services Program. Conducts Screen Out and serve as a County Point OF Contact for intakes and referrals and assign cases in rotation.  This position is in Clayton County. This position does not offer benefits.

Roles and Responsibilities:  

  • Provide customer service and administrative support to Social Services sections.
  • Complete case reviews and provide recommendations for Social Services units.
  • Complete Screen Out and Screen Out & Refer tasks as assigned.
  • Serve as a County POC for intakes and referrals and assign cases in rotation. 
  • Service as a backup contact for county donations. 
  • Responsible for gathering and collecting Holiday wish lists for children.
  • Support Program Coordinator with locating community resources and services.
  • Other duties assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior Child Welfare Work History
  • Ability to work effectively at multiple levels of the organization and with multiple teams
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, a valid state-issued driver’s license and an acceptable driving history record.
