Job Description:

This is a sensitive government position.

The GBI follows the Federal statute regarding drug use and is a drug-free workplace. Although some locations (domestic and foreign) have legalized recreational drug use,
 applicants who use or have used drugs or controlled substances will be subject to disqualification from employment with the GBI.

  • Marijuana Usage - Candidates that have used marijuana or cannabis in any form (natural or synthetic) and in any location (domestic or foreign) within (1) year preceding the date of application, will be disqualified.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate is responsible for all aspects of a small project or phases of a larger project.  Responsible for coordinating activities of a project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of a project. Assigns tasks to project team; analyze user business requirements, procedures and issues to automate business processes; upgrade and/or modify existing systems.  Conduct critical analysis research and prepare reports and/or presentations that assist with developing, communicating and monitoring project work plans and schedules.  Develop and maintain test standards relevant to the development life cycle and change management processes.

  • Strong oral, verbal, and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to lead and guide lower-level staff, and collaborate with team members.
  • Able to attend meetings - in-person and/or virtually.
  • Must be proficient with the use of a computer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires the incumbent to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with other employees.

NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required. 

AGENCY SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma OR GED AND Three (3) years of professional level experience related to the area of assignment.

Note: Professional level experience must be in the area of project management, Information Technology, and/or Training field. Specific job-related project manager experience must be referenced and clearly delineated in the job experience/history on the application. Related project management experience should reflect knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 4 or more years of project management experience.
  • Experience as a team lead.
  • Experience in creating and analyzing requirements and/or business rules.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of professional level experience related to the area of assignment.
