Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Revenue Accounting Technician (Part-Time) in the Division of Administrative Services. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.    

Under direct supervision of the Accounting Director, the Revenue Accounting Technician (Part-Time), will work closely with the Revenue Accountant and Fiscal Analyst supporting the Business Office by ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with state accounting policies. This is a part-time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • General ledger reconciliation and journal upload into WorkDay (GA@Work) system.
  • Categorize into accounts and resolve recording errors; assign accounting codes.
  • Balance and reconcile accounting records, such as journals, ledgers, batch reports, bank statements, technical college specific reports or related documents (student financial aid checks, refund checks).
  • Generate and assist with month-end, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Review and process revenue documents (invoices, receipts, grants, and bonds) for completeness, accuracy and proper authorization; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and dealing with the public.
  • Oral and written communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field OR an Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field AND two (2)  years of directly related accounting work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate a Master’s degree or higher in Accounting, and three (3) or more years of professional accounting experience.
