The DHS’ Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) /Child Welfare is seeking candidates to fill the position of Social Services Program Manager 2 (Administrative Review Specialist), reporting to the Administrative Review Team Manager. This position is located at 47 Trinity in downtown Atlanta, Fulton County.

Job Description (General Summary): The Administrative Review Specialist is a member of the Safety Section. This position is responsible for ensuring all substantiated maltreaters are mailed notification notices, for providing the field with practice guidance on the review process, to monitor the outcomes of the first level reviews, and to conduct any requested second level reviews. This position will monitor the outcome of the third level review and provide the individual with the final results of the review. Additionally, the ART performs all requested IONS screenings for child serving agencies are processed in accordance with established timeframe and policy

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of CPS policy.

  • Ensure the notice of substantiations and requested administrative reviews are processed in accordance with established timeframe and policy.

  • Ensure the IONS screenings are processed in accordance with established timeframe and policy.

  • Provide community training as needed for IONS screenings.

  • Participate in statewide meetings and stakeholder initiatives as requested.

  • Provide training for RBWO/DSP units as requested.

  • Manage the IONS Help Desk, including troubleshooting issues with constituents.

  • Ensure Data Requests are processed/completed and tracked, as necessary.

  • Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to work effectively and independently at multiple levels of the organization and with multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work or a closely related field. 

  • Extensive child welfare experience, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory or management capacity.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in child protective services investigations.

  • Strong initiative and self-direction, with the ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with individuals and teams.  

  • Advanced analytical skills including the ability to apply findings from law or other research to inform policy development

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience producing technical documents and delivering presentations. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including OneDrive and SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job-related experience in a human services field; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Mgr 1 (SSP020) or position equivalent.
