The Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) is seeking a knowledgeable, analytical, and mission-driven professional to support the important work of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence (GCFV).

This position plays a critical role in advancing Georgia’s efforts to address and prevent family violence through fatality review, data analysis, research, training, and statewide collaboration, while working with community partners, advocacy organizations, law enforcement, public safety agencies, and other stakeholders to identify trends, strengthen prevention strategies, and help inform policies and practices that support safer communities.

JOB SUMMARY: 

This role requires the candidate to possess a high level of knowledge and/or experience in the sensitive issues related to family violence. The individual must be capable of working independently and efficiently, performing responsibilities with minimal supervision. Periodic travel throughout the state is required.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

• Coordinate and facilitate local community fatality review processes using standardized qualitative and quantitative review techniques.

• Partner with the Fatality Review Coordinator (I) to fulfill VAWA grant-related activities, project deliverables, and agency objectives.

• Co-author and produce annual fatality review publications, supplemental data reports, and research briefs detailing statewide domestic violence trends.

• Assist with compiling, editing, and distributing the monthly Georgia Domestic Violence Media Watch newsletter.

• Collect, clean, and manage domestic violence incident and fatality data points from GCFV programs, partner agencies, and statewide sources.

• Track and maintain databases on statewide domestic violence-related deaths in collaboration with the Fatality Review Project.

• Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify correlations, emerging trends, and systemic gaps to inform statewide policy development and state planning.

• Serve as an internal clearinghouse for family violence data, generating customized data reports and ad-hoc analytics as requested.

• Facilitate stakeholder partnerships among advocacy programs, law enforcement, and public safety agencies.

• Act as a liaison between GCFV and external local, state, and national partner agencies, collecting family violence data.

• Design and deliver presentations and training modules to inform partner agencies, community task forces, and the public on family violence data findings and fatality review results and recommendations.

• Provide technical assistance to community programs and task forces to support the implementation of recommendations from the State Plan for Ending Family Violence.

• Support grant administrative reporting activities and manage project deliverables promptly, coordinating with the executive director and supervisor.

• Contribute content and support the agency’s social media and outreach initiatives to promote the project and support groups.

• Coordinate the GCFV annual family violence conference, training seminars, and presentations. Assist with agency-wide initiatives, special projects, training, or other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Coord 2 (SSP031) or position equivalent.  Note: Some positions require eligibility for licensure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be eligible for consideration. Applicants meeting five (2) or more preferred qualifications will be extended an interview.

Two (2) or more years of professional experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, and/or technical writing within public health, criminal justice, social services, or non-profit sectors.

Two (2) or more years of knowledge of family violence dynamics, coordinated community responses, or experience working with high-risk/fatality review teams.

Two (2) or more years of advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization software (e.g., SPSS, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or Advanced MS Excel).

Two (2) or more years of demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into clear annual reports, policy briefs, and engaging public presentations for diverse audiences.

Two (2) or more years of strong organizational skills with proven ability to coordinate cross-agency projects, manage grant deliverables, and facilitate multi-stakeholder meetings.
