Job Description:

Job Summary:

• Thoroughly examine dispensing devices to ensure established standards are met
• Test and verify meter calibration
• Verify accuracy of fuel dispensers by both monetary and volumetric indicators according to established procedures
• Responds to complaints in a timely manner
• Investigates consumer complaints concerning accuracy of pumping devices and prepares documentation as needed
• Attends meetings and training seminars for updates and information
• Interacts with all levels of the Department in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation, and contributes to excellent performance
• This position requires occasional overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Must have valid Georgia driver’s license
• Must have clean driving record
• Must be able to back trailer
• Must have communication and customer service skills
• Maintain State vehicle and all equipment pertaining to job
• Be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• General knowledge of window operating systems and basic computer skills
• Basic mathematical skills
• High school diploma or GED required
• Selected applicants must reside or be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance of assigned territory

Physical Demands:

• Standing for long periods of time; intermittent periods of walking, squatting, kneeling, or driving
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. for short periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Vocational/Technical degree in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, pest control, entomology or a closely related field from an accredited college AND Two years of experience in a directly related area OR Two years of college which included 12 semester hours or 20 quarter hours in chemistry or life sciences AND Two years of experience in a directly related area OR Two years of experience required at the lower level Agriculture Inspector 2 (RCT041) or position equivalent.
